Track star Wilma Rudolph helped put Clarksville on the map with her triple gold medal performance in the 1960 Olypmics. Wilma’s fame was the catalyst for an explosion in recreation and leisure events in her hometown, which now attracts such events as the Tennessee Senior Games and the AAU Boys and Girls National Basketball Championships.

AAU

The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and Clarksville-Montgomery County have come together for over a decade bringing high quality national championships to the area. Junior athletes from around the nation travel to Clarksville-Montgomery County with the desire to win big. We want to see them succeed.  When AAU basketball returns each year, they know their event is our number one priority.

AFA Softball

The AFA Softball National Tournaments will be held in Clarksville July 18-31.  Click here for more information!

Kick-it 3v3 Soccer

Over 250 teams come to Heritage Park in Clarksville-Montgomery County for three days of heart pounding fun. With only three players per team, smaller fields, and no goalies it’s a high-intensity sport that everyone enjoys.

Baseball/Softball

Clarksville features 10 adult lighted baseball fields, 7 youth lighted baseball fields, and 17 softball fields that are suitable for tournament play. Four little league fields are available. All fields can be converted into youth fields with portable fencing.

Basketball/Volleyball/Wrestling

Clarksville offers 14 public and private gymnasiums suitable for tournament play. With the capability of converting to suit many sports, Clarksville hosts state and regional championships in volleyball and wrestling, as well as the AAU National Basketball Championship.

Many of Clarksville-Montgomery County high school and middle school complexes are adequately equipped to comfortably handle football tournament play. The community features 8 lighted football fields and 1 track & field stadium at Austin Peay State University.

Golf

Because of its mild Southern climate, Clarksville is home to 5 beautiful golf courses that host numerous tournaments. Golf Digest named Clarksville America’s 11th Best City for Public Golf because of its abundant, affordable courses and year-round play (weather permitting, of course).

Soccer

The Heritage Park Soccer Complex is one of Clarksville’s most exciting sports venues. The complex contains 12 playing fields, of which 4 are lighted. Other sites include 4 fields at Fairgrounds Park and 1 field at each of the 5 school complexes.
