Board Members
The Honorable Jerry Allbert
Chairman
Jerry Allbert is a long-time supporter, coach, and director of the Clarksville AAU Boys Basketball Association. He attends annual selection bids and pitches Clarksville as a host site for AAU National Basketball Championships. Jerry has successfully helped land ten AAU national tournaments, which generate an economic impact of nearly $1 million for the community each year. In his spare time, Jerry is also a public servant and represents constituents in District 21 on the Montgomery County Commission. Jerry is the facilities director for the Clarksville Area YMCA.
Jay Patel
Chairman Elect
Jay Patel is a successful young entrepreneur in the Clarksville community. He owns and operates local hotels, including the brand new Hilton Garden Inn. Jay is a graduate of David Lipscomp University and a recent graduate of Leadership Clarksville Class of 2008.
The Honorable Geno Grubbs
Geno Grubbs is a retired member of the Clarksville Police Department. He is serving his first term as a member of the Clarksville City Council, representing Ward 7. Geno serves on several city committees, including public safety and communications. In his spare time, Geno is an avid train enthusiast. He has traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast several times over on a variety of rail service lines such as Amtrak.
Todd Harvey
Todd Harvey is a principal of a local real estate firm, Byers & Harvey, Inc. Todd is relatively new to the Convention & Visitors Bureau board having served for the past six years as a board member of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. Todd generously sponsors a weekly radio show for all the organizations in our partnership, helping deliver our good news story to the entire community.
Toni Johnson
Toni Johnson is a community supporter in every sense. She manages the local Wingate Inn and supports economic development efforts throughout the community through her sponsorship of events and special guests. Toni has served multiple times on the Convention & Visitors Bureau board and brings the innate knowledge of a hotelier to the board room.
Fred Landiss
Past Chairman
Fred Landiss is a senior vice president and director of marketing and public relations for F&M Bank, headquartered in Clarksville with offices throughout Middle Tennessee. Most recently, Fred handled the construction and design of a new 5-story Class A office building for the bank’s headquarters in Historic Downtown Clarksville, on the site of the famed Franklin Hotel. In his spare time, Fred has volunteered for a number of organizations over the years, including the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center. Here, he and his wife, Judy, were influential in securing and expanding the Lucy Dunwody Boehm Porcelain Collection for the Museum.
Rev. William Luffman
Rev. William Luffman is the pastor of Faith Outreach Church in Clarksville, Tennessee. His congregation has humble beginnings but over the course of twenty years has grown to over 2,200 members. Faith Outreach Church has a special relationship with service men and women, given the community’s proximity to nearby Fort Campbell Military Post.
Bradley A. Martin, III
Past Chairman
Brad Martin is a principal in the local architecture firm, Lyle Cook Martin Architects. He says his passion is for modern buildings, but the Clarksville community can attest to his expertise with historical structures as well. A self-proclaimed Civil War buff, Brad recently headed up the community’s efforts to participate in the Tennessee Civil War Trails program, identifying sites throughout Montgomery County for the trail. In his spare time, Brad spends time with his family and volunteers for a number of other causes and organizations.
Joann Weakley
Joann Weakley is the owner and proprietor of Weakley Business Services and Historic Collinsville, a restored pioneer settlement in Montgomery County. You will often find Joann from May through October as a costumed docent at Historic Collinsville giving guided tours and working with guests and schoolchildren. Joann often reflects on the opportunities to provide an authentic experience, which helps guests and especially children understand and appreciate history.
